Welcome! This blog is for pastors and leaders who want to live and lead well. All the content is curated or written by me, Michael Danner.
A few things about me.
I am an Anabapist follower of Jesus. I try to follow Jesus’ teaching in everyday life. For a primer on Jesus’ teaching read the gospel of Matthew in the New Testament of the Bible, chapters 5 through 7. I try to do that stuff. Some days go better than others.
I am a learner. I learn from books, blogs, podcasts, conversations, experiences, failures, successes, and so on. I love my local library!
I draw from multiple sources. I believe all truth is God’s truth. I’m on the lookout for anything good, true, life-giving, and love provoking. Sometimes this stuff comes from people who believe like me. Other times it comes from people who do not. Do not be surprised when I quote someone from different faiths or no faith at all.
I am on the look out for stuff that helps. I am not a learner for learning’s sake. I learn to grow as a human. I like to share what I learn.
I have a wife and three adult kids (and two cats). Melissa and I do life together. We conspire to love each other, our kids, and others well. She is an amazing teacher. Do not get me started on my kids. What is important is that they all inspire me to live and love fully.
I am diabetic. I stick myself with needles multiple times a day. Sometimes I talk about it. It is part of my daily reality.
I’m down for a great discussion! “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” That is in the Bible. Proverbs 27:17. In my experience, that is true. We learn from each other.
That gives you a glimpse into who I am and where I am coming from.
